Your music has been my companion through countless moments, both celebration and heartache. These intimate frames from your February 2020 segment capture what your artistry means to me.

Little did I know, when my friend Zashanell called about filming BTS for this HBO Latino segment, that I’d be documenting an artist whose work had already touched my life so deeply. As someone who had been working for Costa Rica at the time, meeting you felt like a beautiful full-circle moment, right before the world changed forever.

February 2020 at the Gibson Center holds a bittersweet place in my memory now. Just weeks later I would lose my position with the Costa Rican government as COVID reshaped our world. Yet in these moments with you and your music, I found something timeless: a love letter from the universe and from Costa Rica to me.
