A commercial magazine commission, print deadlines, a brief to hit, and the quiet discipline of making someone else’s vision look effortless. The March issue, shot to spec and still made to feel like ours.
We built this against a clean cream wall, nothing on it, so the look could carry the frame on its own. Short red pixie fading to orange at the front, green lipstick, pink shadow swept up at the corner, a sheer black bodysuit under a black blazer with the sleeves pushed up. A little ring of keys hanging off one hand for good measure. Loud on purpose, every piece of it.
I lit it flat and bright so the color did the shouting, and then I let her lean into the wall and own the whole thing. Print work like this lives or dies on attitude, and she walked in with plenty. Hit the brief, kept the edge. That is the whole trick, and it is harder than it sounds.
