Sudor y Luz

Miami · Jan 2016

Sudor y luz, sweat and light. Pipa in athletic mode, where the line between a workout and a campaign gets gloriously blurry.

Blue sports bra, tie-dye shorts, and that big window full of Brickell behind her, towers and a construction crane and the river way down below. She climbed up onto the little round table by the glass and knelt there in the flat afternoon light, and the whole thing read like an activewear ad that wandered off the rails on purpose.

I love shooting against a window this size because you basically can’t lose. The light wraps her, the city does the backdrop for free, and all I have to do is not stand in my own shadow. She held the pose, gave me that level stare, and the sportswear stopped being sportswear somewhere around the third frame.
