Corte

Corte, the cut. Tailoring as attitude; Dre wearing the clothes like an argument he’s already won.

I found a wall painted in big red and black chevrons, these huge arrows all pointing in toward the center, and I knew immediately I was going to put him dead in the crosshairs and let the geometry do the yelling. Knit vest, tailored trousers, a do-rag, beat-up Converse to keep it from getting too serious. Hard afternoon sun raking across so his own shadow falls long on the pavement.

He leaned back into all those arrows like he owned the building they were painted on. One hand at the waistband, weight cocked, chin level. The wall is basically screaming and he is the calm thing it is screaming about.

Tailoring as attitude is the whole idea here. Clean trousers, scrappy sneakers, a backdrop that refuses to sit still, and Dre standing in the middle of it wearing the clothes like a point he already made and won.
