Clair-obscur, the play of light against dark, the whole language of this one. Lace, shadow, and a look that decides exactly how much you get to see. Restraint as the edge.
This one had a sense of humor about itself, which I loved. Pink cat-eye glasses, hair pinned up in two little twists, an oversized knit cardigan thrown open over a black bra and a flash of neon pink. Half pin-up, half someone who just walked out of her own apartment and dared you to say something.
I shot her flat against a stucco wall, hands planted on her hips, chin level, looking straight down the lens. The wall did the warm work and she did the rest. No set, no tricks, just attitude and good light, which is usually all you need when the person in front of you already knows exactly who she is.
